Tata Power is set to explore small modular reactor projects of 20-50 megawatt capacity. This move follows proposed legal amendments to allow private participation in India’s nuclear sector. The company is already scouting locations for future nuclear ventures. While new plants will take time to materialize, the government aims for 100 GW nuclear capacity by 2047.
